Welcome to Mount Pleasant

Established in 1921 by Maurice O'Shea — widely regarded as Australia's greatest ever winemaker, a man so revered that Max Schubert felt "humbled in his presence" — Mount Pleasant is the birthplace of the Shiraz-Pinot blend, presiding over a tapestry of Australia's most important vineyards, including the oldest Pinot Noir vineyard in the country and home to the iconic MV6 clone. With vines dating back to 1880, the narrative is written in our soil; from these extraordinary vineyard blocks we craft Semillon, Shiraz and Pinot Noir that have defined the regional benchmark for over a century, none more so than the 1937 Mountain A and 1944 Mount Henry, named by James Halliday among the seven greatest Australian red wines ever made.

2026 Annual Release

June 13

The release we have been waiting for. The 2026 Annual Release centres on the distinctive 2024 vintage, with our shiraz rested a further year in bottle to reveal its full depth, alongside our 2025 pinot noir and shiraz pinot. Produced in limited volumes, with Old Hill, Old Paddock and 1946 Vines reserved exclusively to members. A release not to be missed, and one we are particularly proud to share.

"There's an argument to say that Mount Pleasant is Australia's most important wine estate."
